1. If the Top Browns Too Quickly, Use Aluminum Foil Immediately:
If you are baking a cake or pie and there is still a lot of time left (e.g., 10 minutes remaining), but the top has already reached your desired darkness, immediately pause and open the basket. Without letting it touch the food directly, cover the mouth of the basket with a suitably sized piece of aluminum foil. The foil will block the direct, drying heat coming from the top element, buying time for the inside of the cake to bake slowly using just the ambient temperature. However, ensure the foil is secured well at the edges so it doesn't fly up and stick directly to the heating element!

2. The Color and Material of the Baking Pan Are Crucial:
Dark-colored (especially matte black) metal pans thermodynamically draw and absorb heat very rapidly. When the air fryer is already heating aggressively, using a black pan can cause the edges of the cake to dry out and burn almost immediately.
