How is word count calculated?
The word count is determined by counting the spaces between words in the text. Punctuation marks are not separated from words and are not taken into account, but spaces are considered as word separators.
What is the difference between character count and word count?
Character count refers to the sum of every single letter, number, punctuation mark, and (sometimes) spaces in the text. Word count, on the other hand, counts meaningful units (words) separated by spaces.
How is estimated reading time found?
Based on the number of words an average person can read per minute (usually between 200-250), the estimated reading time is calculated by dividing the total number of words in the text by this value.
